Curriculum Enrichment
Our curriculum is enriched through a wide range of off-site visits, residential visits, themed days, visitors and practical experiences and children consolidate their learning through opportunities to apply learnt skills across subject areas and in meaningful situations whenever possible. Many of these activities are funded by the school to enable all pupils to take in a wide range of activities and enjoy new experiences. However, we do organise a number of educational visits and activities where we ask for voluntary contributions from parents and carers to support the cost.
In Years 3 and 4 the children are given the opportunity to attend a three day residential at the PGL Beam House Children's Adventure Centre in North Devon. They participate in a variety of activities including quad biking, abseiling, archery and canoeing.
In Year 6 the children are invited to attend a residential visit to the Mill on the Brue Activity Centre in Somerset. The children take part in a variety of adventures activities on site that promote team building, resilience, communication and most of all fun!
We hope all children will have the opportunity of attending at least one of the visits before they leave for their Secondary Schools.
